The Canelo Vs. Gennady Golovkin Saturday night match was one that was highly anticipated in the boxing world. The match ended in a split draw between Canelo Alvarez and the IBF, WBC and WBA champion Gennady Golovkin. Initially, Canello Alvares was in control of the first quarter. Problems for him started when Golovkin put pressure on him and started dictating the pace of the match. In the following rounds, Canello was the one who was throwing the harder punches but Golovkin did volume punches.

His advantage was that Canello looked as if he was already tired. It was the final rounds that changed the whole game where Canello became much more aggressive and he started showing off combinations showcasing his advantage in speed.

Problems came again when he could not maintain the pace while Golovkin could not respond to the flurries. Canellos draw was earned through early action even though he retreated in each round.

Canello showcased elite boxing skills but it was seen that he did not have enough stamina. Golovkin on the other hand earned respect even though he didn’t have speed but had stamina and was relentless.
