Light welterweight title was retained by Ricky Hatton as he won in the eleventh round. However, in the second round knockout phase, he was eliminated by Manny Pacquiao. The father-son relationship gained momentum again as Floyd Senior became his son’s trainer.

The feud between Pacquiao and the Mayweathers skyrocketed and about was in the plan to be scheduled.
