Boxing has always been a popular sport throughout history. In the world of professional boxing, they are a specific set of rules that the participants are supposed to abide by. In the past, the outcome of boxing matches was determined by referees, but today this role has been replaced by boxing judges.

The primary role of boxing judges to ensure boxing rules during a boxing match is followed.

The following are other duties of boxing judges:

i) Briefing the participants on the rules to be followed before the commencement of the fight.

ii) Identifying fouls committed by the boxers and deciding whether to give a warning or deduct points from a boxer.

iii) Giving a signal to end around.

iv) Stopping a fight when one of the boxers is endangered.

v) Disqualifying a boxer for serious violation of the rules.

Boxing judges determine the winner in a boxing match by considering factors such as hand speed, footwork, locale, and competition.

In professional boxing matches, only one judge is allowed inside the ring. There are also two or three judges who sit outside the ring and score the matches.
